Wireless Medical Corporation is a medical device company that designs, develops, manufactures and distributes medical devices that attend to improve healthcare quality. We offer innovative, safe and cutting-edge technology based products that can make work easier for doctors and have an impact in patients' lives.

In WMC we believe that the future is wireless. We work hard to create wireless products that offer the same or better results than conventional wired medical devices and that can avoid the complications that cables produce in operating rooms.

Our mission is to bring to the medical community superior and innovative solutions that provide unique value, both clinically and economically.

WMC's first product in the pipeline is WELA, a portable laparoscope that sends the image signal wirelessly and allows more freedom of movement to the doctor.

More range of view

WELA uses no cables to transmit the image. It contains a transmitter chip that sends the image via WI-FI connection with a delay of just 1ms. You just need to turn it on and it will connect to the device you want (TV monitor, pc, laptop or tablet). As simple as that.

The camera at the tip of the laparoscope is capable of recording in 2K resolution. As a result, operating with WELA becomes a unique experience as images are of a superior quality, looking super clear and sharp.

Another reason for which WELA provides images that good is its illumination system. It consists of two powerful LED chips that are able to generate 5.000 lm of light.  The light produced at the handle part of the laparoscope is conducted towards the tip with flexible optical fiber.

WELA is not connected to the current or to a conventional laparoscopic tower. It has its own power supply system: a belt that the doctor using the device wears during the intervention. This belt contains a rechargeable battery that connects with the laparoscope with a short, thin and non-bothering cable. This way, we have eliminated the large and disturbing wire that regular laparoscopes use in order to power the device and transmit the image. Our portable belt supplies 400Wh, providing a battery life of more than 3 hours with a single charge.

WELA's articulated tip technology allows the surgeon to have a much wider range of view of the cavity. The tip can rotate up to 100º in four directions, allowing to comfortably have visual access to different areas without having to rotate or tilt the device. The mobile tip is controlled with a user-friendly joystick located at the handle of the device.

WELA is built with materials compatible with processes of sterilization that require immersion in liquids such as Autoclave. The tip is made of nitinol, the handle is made of a polysulfone compound reinforced with 20% of glass fibre and the articulated tip is recovered with a silicon-based compound resistant to high temperatures. With these materials and its compact design, WELA gives no room for microorganisms and possible infections.
